INGREDIENT NOTES:

ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR:

  • This flour makes the buns fluffy. They also give a soft surface. You can use half the amount of whole wheat flour rather than this one as well.

SUGAR:

  • Sugar gives a sweet flavor to the buns. It also activates the yeast. An alternative to sugar is coconut sugar.

SALT:

  • Salt helps the yeast in lifting the dough. It also enhances the taste of the buns. Another option for salt is sea salt.

INSTANT YEAST:

  • When we use this, it saves time. You don’t have to activate the yeast in water. This works quickly to raise the dough. Another alternative is active dry yeast. But you will need to wait 5 minutes after mixing it in warm water.

WARM WATER:

  • Be sure to use warm water to activate the yeast completely.

VEGETABLE OIL:

  • We use oil to keep the buns soft. For an alternative, use sunflower or canola oil.

PLANT-BASED MILK:

  • Before baking, we apply this to the top of the buns. In this way, they become golden. You can exclude this if you desire to.
