Cheesy Garlic Butter Rollups

The Vegan Cheesy Garlic Butter Rollups are warm buttery rolls bathed in butter with garlicky goodness, with melty vegan cheese filling. Vegan Cheesy Garlic Butter Rollups are filling, tender in the center & slightly crunchy on the sides. They are also dairy-free and use pantry ingredients. They can also be made in advance & are freezer-friendly. The rolls are filled, rolled & baked to a golden color and then cooked with melted vegan butter and fresh herbs. They are cheesy, garlicky, and perfectly suitable against any craving without dairy and eggs.

INGREDIENT NOTES:
Vegan puff pastry/crescent dough:
- Buy a ready-made dough in a store, but make sure it states vegan on it. Thaw it out, should it be frozen? It is rolled out to allow easier handling.
Vegan cheese:
- Select a meltable vegan cheese, ie mozzarella flavored shreds. Such brands as Daiya, Follow Your Heart, or Violife will melt.
Vegan butter:
- Take any butter free of dairy. Brush on top after melting it. It gives good color and flavour.
Garlic and garlic powder:
- Sprinkle each to add an assertive delicious garlic bite in each bite.
Herbs:
- Fresh parsley or dried Italian herbs bring in an age-old garlic-butter flavor. Whichever convenience you have.
Salt:
- A pinch of salt improves the smoothness of both cheese and butter.
Olive oil (optional):
- It will provide a crispy texture to the outer layer and offer additional shine.
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Adjust the oven temperature to 375°F (190°C).
- To line a baking pan, use paper towel.
- Roll out the puff pastry / crescent dough onto a floured surface.
- Using a sharp knife cut the pizza mixture into ten to twelve strips.
- Sprinkle the shredded vegan cheese evenly over each strip.
- Roll each strip tightly to form a spiral shape.
- With the swirl side facing up, place each roll on the baking sheet.
- In a small bowl, combine melted butter, cloves of garlic, herbs, salt, and turmeric powder.
- Coat the edges of the rolls with the garlic butter mixture.
- Bake for 18 to 22 minutes/till golden brown & crisp.
- Remove from the oven and, if desired, cover with extra garlic butter.
- Toss with fresh herbs or a dash of sea salt before serving.
- Warm up and serve as a snack or side dish.
TIP:
- Do not overstuff it with cheese as it can leak in the time of baking.
- To facilitate clean up without sticking use parchment.
- When it is to be served for guests, make extra with a second batch, they fly!
- Red chili flakes can be added to spice things up.
- Bake to get the crunchy touch on the leftovers.
