Lentil meatballs

Lentil meatballs

INGREDIENTS:

  • Lentils, 1 cup
  • Oats, 1 cup
  • Olive oil 1tbsp
  • Onion 1, chopped onion
  • Garlic cloves 3, chopped
  • Walnuts, 1/2 cup, chopped
  • Ground flax seeds, 1tbsp
  • Nutritional yeast 1 tbsp
  • Salt according to taste
  • Black pepper according to taste

TOMATO SAUCE:

  • To prepare the tomato sauce, we need the following ingredients:
  • Fresh tomatoes, 400 grams, chopped
  • Onion 1/2, finely chopped
  • Carrot 1, chopped
  • Celery 1, chopped
  • Vegan oil 1tbsp
  • Garlic clove 1, chopped

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. We shall abide by the following rules to create delicious & fresh vegan lentil meatballs:
  2. Wash the red lentils first, then soak them in water for 15 minutes or such.
  3. Then, put the brown lentils first & water in a big pan & cover.
  4. Cook over a low flame for 15/20 mins.
  5. After the lentils are cooked, drain any excess water in a big pan & cover.
  6. In a big pan, add vegan oil to cook lentil meatballs.
  7. Include the chopped onion to the oil & cook it slowly.
  8. Reduce the heat & simmer until it becomes transparent, about 5 minutes.
  9. The chopped garlic should then be sauteed for one minute.
  10. Include the oats, yeast, salt, powdered peppercorn, & flax seeds (ground) now.
  11. Incorporate cooked lentils into this blend.
  12. Using a wooden spoon, combine all the items.
  13. Use a masher to smash the lentils.
  14. The mixture for the lentil meatballs is prepared.

OVEN METHOD:

  1. Set the oven’s temperature to 190 degrees.
  2. Next, use your hands to form the batter into balls.
  3. Use vegan oil to oil the tray (baking).
  4. Spoon all of the lentil meatballs onto the baking sheet.
  5. Bake until golden, 20/30 minutes.
  6. While baking, turn each side over.
  7. Give it 5/10 minutes to cool on the baking tray.
  8. The meatballs made from lentils are ready.

SERVING:

  1. Serve tomato sauce alongside delicious lentil meatballs.

TIPS:

Give the lentils 20 minutes or so to cook.
To help the meatballs stick, include the oats.

NOTES:

Use ready-made tomato sauce.
Include in a small amount of water, if the lentil meatball mixture is dry.

STORAGE INFORMATION:

Store lentil meatballs in an airtight jar & refrigerate them for 3/4 days.
Maintain in a cold place for upto a month to extend the shelf life.
