  • One tbsp. brown sugar
  • 8 ounces softened vegan cream cheese
  • One cup unsweetened coconut yogurt
  • 3 tbsp. maple syrup
  • Half cup pecans

INGREDIENT NOTES:

RED SEEDLESS GRAPES:

  • These red seedless grapes give the salad its beautiful color. They include natural sweetness and juicy texture. Red grapes maintain the creamy dressing and crunchy pecans. You may use black seedless grapes as an alternative.

GREEN SEEDLESS GRAPES:

  • They include a refreshing tart taste in the dessert. Green grapes maintain the sweetness of red grapes and maple syrup. You may use champagne grapes as another choice.

VEGAN CREAM CHEESE:

  • Vegan cheese gives a creamy base to the dressing. It includes classic Southern grape salad texture as well. You may use blended soaked cashews as per your preference.

UNSWEETENED COCONUT YOGURT:

  • We use it to include creaminess and a tangy taste in the recipe. It maintains the sweet taste of grapes and makes the dressing smooth. Unsweetened almond yogurt is a good substitute as well.

MAPLE SYRUP:

  • Maple syrup gives sweetness to the dressing and includes a caramel-like taste. It blends easily into the mixture. Use date syrup if not adding maple syrup.

BROWN SUGAR:

  • We use it as a traditional topping in the salad. It gives a caramel taste and sweetness. Brown sugar makes a classic Southern-style look. You may use coconut sugar, maple sugar, or date sugar as per your choice.

PECANS:

  • Chopped pecans give crunch and nutty taste to the salad. They get richer in taste after toasting. You may use walnuts as another idea.

VANILLA EXTRACT:

  • Vanilla extract improves the sweet taste and brings all the components. It provides a comforting taste to the dressing and a more dessert-like feel. Vanilla powder is a good alternative as well.
