Servings: 12 servings

  • 1 cup vegan dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • Optional toppings: crushed nuts, shredded coconut, dried fruit

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the vegan dark chocolate chips and coconut oil. Heat in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring each time, until the chocolate chips and coconut oil have melted and combined smoothly.
  2. Add the pure maple syrup, vanilla extract, and sea salt to the melted chocolate mixture. Stir well until all the ingredients are thoroughly incorporated.
  3. Line a baking pan or dish with parchment paper. Pour the chocolate mixture into the pan and spread it evenly using a spatula.
  4. If desired, sprinkle your favorite toppings over the chocolate mixture. Crushed nuts, shredded coconut, or dried fruit work wonderfully with this recipe.
  5. Place the pan in the refrigerator and let it chill for at least 2 hours, or until the chocolate has completely solidified.
  6. Once the chocolate has hardened, remove it from the refrigerator. Use a sharp knife to cut it into bite-sized squares or break it into irregular pieces.
  7. Serve and enjoy! Store any remaining vegan chocolate in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
