INGREDIENT NOTES:

WHOLE WHEAT BREAD:

This is the core component for the sandwich. We use whole wheat bread slices because they have more fiber in them and give a nice shape to the overall sandwiches. Using white bread is also fine for this recipe.

TOFU:

When we cook tofu, it will become a bit crunchy and will provide a feeling of meat in the sandwich. You can also use mushrooms after grilling them in place of tofu.

OLIVE OIL:

Olive oil will help in cooking the tofu and making it a bit crunchy. Using avocado oil is also an option.

MUSTARD:

Using mustard in the sandwich will provide a nice flavor and tanginess. Tahini sauce will also work fine in its place.

VEGAN MAYONNAISE:

This will provide a classic sandwich feel and include a creamy element as well. You may also consider the use of vegan yogurt spread.

LETTUCE, TOMATO, CUCUMBER & AVOCADO:

All of the above products will provide crunchiness, a juicy element, a fresh feeling, and a creamy element, respectively. Other alternatives for these products can include spinach, red peppers (roasted), zucchini, or guacamole.
