Instructions:

1. Preheat Oven:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9×5-inch loaf pans.
2. Prepare Cinnamon Swirl:
  • In a small bowl, mix together the 1/2 cup of granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon. Set aside.
3. Prepare Batter:
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and 2 cups of sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
4. Combine Dry Ingredients:
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
5. Alternate Mixing:
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the buttermilk. Begin and end with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.

  • Use a knife to swirl the cinnamon-sugar mixture through the batter in each pan, creating a marbled effect.
8. Bake:
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
9. Cool:
  • Allow the loaves to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
10. Slice and Serve:
  • Once cooled, slice and enjoy your homemade Amish Cinnamon Bread with a cup of coffee or tea.
11. Store:
