INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 medium carrots
  • Half tsp sea salt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Half tsp garlic powder

INGREDIENT NOTES:

CARROTS:

  • We use these carrots to make the crispy chips. They give natural sweetness and a bright taste to the dish. Use firm carrots that are not soft to get better results. You may use baby carrots as per your preference.

OLIVE OIL:

  • It makes the carrot slices brown and crispy when we bake. Olive oil sticks the garlic powder and salt to the carrots. Use a small amount so the chips do not become greasy. You may use avocado oil as another choice.

SEA SALT:

  • Sea salt brings out the sweet taste of the carrots. It gives a savory snack-like taste to the chips. Use a small amount because the carrots shrink when we bake them. You may use kosher salt as a substitute.

GARLIC POWDER:

  • It includes a mild savory taste without adding moisture to the recipe. Garlic powder spreads evenly on the carrot slices and gives more taste to the chips. Utilize onion powder as another idea.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. First, include baking paper on the sheet and warm the oven to 350°F.
  2. Peel the carrots & wash them well, then cut the carrots into 2mm thick round slices.
  3. Dry the carrot slices with a kitchen towel and remove excess moisture.
  4. Put the carrot slices, sea salt, olive oil, and garlic powder in the large bowl.
  5. Gently toss to coat all the carrot slices well with the seasoning.
  6. Spread a single layer of carrot slices on the sheet then bake for fifteen minutes.
  7. Flip the carrot slices with a spatula and bake again for another 20 minutes.
  8. Then take the carrots out of the oven and cool on the sheet for several minutes.
