INGREDIENT NOTES:

OKRA:

  • We use okra as the main ingredient to give a soft and mild earthy taste to the fritters. Okra sticks the mixture together properly when we chop it finely. You may use frozen okra as per your preference.

GREEN TOMATOES:

  • They add a fresh and sour taste to the snack. Green tomatoes are firmer, so they do not get soft while cooking. You may use firm unripe tomatoes as another idea.

YELLOW CORNMEAL:

  • It absorbs the moisture from the vegetables and makes the fritters crispy. You may use corn flour as an alternative.

UNSWEETENED VEGAN MILK:

  • This milk gives moisture to the batter and gives better results. Milk also helps mix the flour and cornmeal well with the vegetables to give a soft mixture. Include unsweetened soy milk as per your like.
