  • Two teaspoons of melted vegan butter
  • 3 minced garlic cloves
  • Two tablespoons of olive oil
  • Half a teaspoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh parsley (finely chopped, optional)

INGREDIENT NOTES

Flour:

  • The flatbread is soft & light owing to all-purpose flour. Whole wheat flour presents a denser texture with more fiber.

Baking powder:

  • This would make the bread swell a little during cooking. It prevents the heaviness in the texture.

Salt:

  • Adds to the flavor in general. It enhances the taste of garlic as well. Avoiding it can also cause the bread to taste flat.

Olive oil:

  • It makes the dough pliant & easy to roll out. It also gives some light richness. Neutral oils may be adopted instead.

Warm water:

  • Aids in the blending of the ingredients into a smooth dough. The heat causes the baking powder to come into effect.

Vegan butter:

  • Provides a creamy topping with the rich taste of garlic. To get the best taste, use a high-quality vegan butter.

Garlic:

  • Fresh Garlic will give the best smell. Minced/crushed is the best. Garlic powder is OK, in milder, quicker versions.

Parsley:

  • Gives it color & a fresh appeal. It also provides it with a light herby taste. It is optional in case you like plain bread.
