INGREDIENT NOTES:

WATERMELON:

  • Watermelon adds its sweet taste and moisture content to the salsa. Choose the seedless and ripe melon, so it is easier to make slices and provides a naturally sweet taste. Drain all the excess water, if any, before the addition of other ingredients.

CUCUMBER:

  • Cucumber provides the crunch in the salsa and also adds moisture. It also helps to balance the spice and heat. Use the English cucumbers, which have few or no seeds, and they provide a mild taste. Peel the skin if you want, and make the small cubes.

RED ONIONS:

  • Use the red onions to provide the sharp flavor, which will balance the sweet taste of the fruits. Make the fine dice to keep the salsa mild and balanced. Soak the onions in the cold water for some time to eliminate the sharp taste if required.

JALAPENOS:

  • Jalapeno adds the spice to the salsa. Remove the seeds to lessen the spice or keep them to increase the spiciness if preferred. Use the serrano pepper instead for more spiciness.

CILANTRO:

  • We have to add the fresh taste and provide all the tastes. Add the oft stems and leaves. You can also add the mint leaves instead of cilantro if you want.

LIME JUICE & ZEST:

  • Use the fresh lime juice and zest to add the bright taste and freshness to the salsa. The acidity will enhance the sweet taste of the fruit and aid in keeping the salsa crisp. Use the fresh lime to provide the best flavor.
